Life seems to have been pressured of late with little space.  I was extremely happy this morning when a copy of Christopher Meredith’s collection Air Histories arrived in the post.  I read the first couple of poems while I ate a sandwich in the vestry at lunchtime. The poem Borderland is excellent, such a gift, something that is renewing my sense of wonder and creativity, that will stay with me for a while as I chew it over and puzzle it out.  Wonderful lines like:

Here’s where things fall together, not apart

at edges that let meanings happen.

Cycling to a meeting after first reading this, the autumn wind walked a horsechestnut leaf across the road like a spider.
