winter pilgrimage

There’s that point where the dreaming of dreams becomes a reality.

For a while I’ve been planning with some friends a short Camino and a retreat after Christmas.  Today, the plane tickets have been booked, and the beautiful time of preparing begins.  I’m really looking forward to it.  The challenge of the weather (although I hope it is better than in the photo above on the Malverns last winter).  Walking with a group of friends in a purposeful Christian pilgrimage.  A blast of light and joy in the dark days.  Winter hard trudged out.  Spain, Galicia, Santiago.

If you’re thinking of walking this winter, there’s a good post on safety on Terry Bnd’s blog here and The Independent suggests 50 Best Winter Walks here.

Buen Camino!

I sincerely hope you don’t find yourself walking through this in Spain.
