It’s been quite a week.
The Urban Congress in Birmingham last Saturday. Two excellent National Estate Church Network Conferences in London.and Rotherham. A quiet day with the women from the Freedom Programme in Birmingham. The news from the American elections, its parallels with Brexit and the challenges this gives for estate churches. I will post reflections and reports on some of this in due course.
As I process all this, the end of yesterday’s Rotherham Conference comes to mind. We had shared deeply, listened and taken part in a wonderfully rooted and earthed day led ably by Gillian Ahlgren. We had reflected on the joys and challenges of estate churches and communities and had committed ourselves to the journey.
As we held all this in prayer, we said together the Saying of St John of the Cross:
Where there is no love, pour in love, and you will find love.
